About Me

After being forced to resign from her job in 2018 due to harassment and workplace toxicity, Celestina found herself in her sister's basement, unemployed for close to a year. She was on food stamps and unemployment benefits with inevitable debt growing while grieving the loss of a dear friend, a friend she did not have the chance to say goodbye to.

Growing up Ghanaian and African meant finances were not discussed or taught. Talking about money management and mental well-being had strong taboo undertones. Having more and the shame of not having enough were also avoided in conversation—unless appealing for help.

The upbringing is not to be blamed. In fact, no one can be blamed; generational poverty, trauma, and lack of understanding could not make space to unlearn and replace with something better. Dreaming of something else was a luxury our minds could not comprehend or achieve. Parents and grandparents did the best they could with what they were taught and not taught, and that was passed down until one person broke the cycle.

So when Celestina lost everything in 2018, she had no foundation to refer to—no blueprint to rebuild. She found herself in a complete knowledge void, where she learned to forgive her upbringing, pull herself out of debt, and create a blueprint that evolves with her. Celestina has bounced back from her financial plummet, recovered from the financial instability, and coached herself through life's happenings and how to better manage life. She Collided Into Place and is here to help you through yours.

As a Certified Life Coach and Personal Finance Coach, Celestina is committed to causing generational shifts and breaking cycles. It ends with you! She started Colliding Into Place Coaching Services to help others have a better money relationship and be coached as life happens. We can't and shouldn't do life alone; getting help is okay.

Celestina holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Knox College in Galesburg, IL, and a Masters in International Development and Social Change from Clark University in Worcester, MA. She was a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (RPCV), Burkina Faso 2013 to 2015 and currently works as a Chief of Staff for a global health non-profit.
